Strawberry Shortcake


Ingredients

  • 6 cups slices strawberries
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flout
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • Whipped Cream
Directions
  1. Stir together berries and 1/4 cup of the sugar; set aside.
  2. Stir together remaining sugar, flour, and baking powder.
  3. Cut in margarine til mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Combine egg and mike; ads all at one to dry ingredients. Stir just to moisten. Spread into a greased 8x1 1/2-inc round baking pan, building up edge slightly.
  5. Bake in a  450° oven for 15 to 18 minutes or till toothpick insert near center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from pan. Split into 2 layers. spoon the fruit and Whipped Cream between layers and over top. Serve immediately. Serves 8.

  • 240 g  cups all-purpose flout
  • 10 mL teaspoon baking powder
  • 120 g  cup margarine or butter
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 160 mL milk
  • Whipped Cream
